Margery A. Sawyer, 86, of Dallas passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, in Melbourne, Fla., while visiting her son, Timothy.
Born in Omaha, Neb., she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Ellen Browning Waite and was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Margery was office manager and secretary of the board for Sawyer's Office Machines.
Margery and her husband, Dean, were two of the founding members of the Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society.
She enjoyed many hours surrounded by her grandchildren.
Margery was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean Sawyer, in 2008.
Surviving are her sons, Lawrence and his wife, Donna Sawyer, Turnersville, N.J.; Timothy Sawyer and Bette Dolson, Melbourne, Fla.; daughters, Janet and her husband, Bruce Baker, Dallas; Joann and her husband, Gary Kostrobala, Dallas; grandchildren, Brian and Lawren Sawyer, Aaron, Kristan, Taylor and Ryan Baker, Michael and Gregory Kostrobala; great-grandchildren, Sarah Poper-Sawyer and Lorianna Poper; brother, James Waite; and sister, Armond Bohan.
The viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, with the Rev. Daniel Toomey officiating. Internment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming.
