Mary Ellen Cosgrove, 82, formerly of Hanover Township, passed away Friday morning, March 21, 2014, at Commonwealth Hospice of Wilkes-Barre at St. Luke's Villa.
She was born in Pittston, and was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Margaret Burke Sullivan.
Mary Ellen was a homemaker most of her life, she and her late husband, George Cosgrove, were members of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, South Main Road, Hanover Township.
Mary Ellen was a prior member of the adult choir and organist for the children's choir at the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by a daughter, Margaret Davidson; and brother, Edward Sullivan.
Presently surviving are a daughter, Anne Ezzo and husband, Steve, Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Kara Turner and Sean Davidson; Elizabeth and Michael Ezzo; four great-grandchildren.
Mary Ellen's funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, from Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Buttonwood, Hanover Township, at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
Friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 28.
