Mary Irene Elizabeth Brace Oddo

Mary Irene Elizabeth Brace Oddo passed away April 23, 2013 in Kingston.

She was born July 28, 1922 in Bristol to Harold Van Buren Brace and Regina Aileen Brace (nee Keider). She was a descendant of Stephen Brace, a founding settler of Hartford, Conn. She graduated from St. Nicholas High School in Wilkes-Barre.

During World War II, she worked for Curtis-Wright Aeronautical in Passaic, N.J. In 1966, she and her husband, Joseph J. Oddo, founded the West Milford Township Independent newspaper in West Milford, N.J. She retired to Wilkes-Barre in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her late husband of 56 years, Joseph J. Oddo.

She is survived by her son, John; daughter, Jo-Ann; stepsons, Vincent and Joseph; sister, Regina (Jean) Toole, seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private and there are no calling hours.

Arrangements are by the William A. Reese Funeral Chapel, 56 Gaylord Ave., Plymouth.
