Mary R. Alessandri

Mary R. Alessandri, 91, of Pittston passed away Monday morning, Nov. 25, 2013, at Highland Manor, Exeter.

Born in Pittston on Oct. 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Theresa Battisti Emma.

She attended Pittston schools and was employed for 25 years by the local cigar factories.

She was a member of the former St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, now St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston, and its former Christian Mothers Society.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Alessandri; brothers, Sam Emma and Joseph Emma; and sisters, Lillian Guarneri, Grace Frushon and Theresa Sagliocolo.

Surviving are her daughter, Anne Marie Antal, Wyoming; granddaughter, Jamie Tucker and her husband, Art; great-grandson, Arthur (A.J.) Tucker; sister, Josephine Lazzari, Pittston; numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff of Highland Manor and the hospice staff for the compassionate care they provided to Mary.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Township.
