Michael David McManus Sr.

Michael David McManus Sr., 73, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday morning, April 3, 2013, in Plymouth, after a battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn Vishner McManus.

Surviving are his children, Kim, Plymouth; Illana, Plymouth; Michael, Boykins, Va.; Shawn, Kingston; and Keith, Plymouth; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Keith, Wilkes-Barre; and Stephen, Ohio; and special friend, Jean Labinski.

Michael served during the Vietnam War and all over the world during his 10-year career in the Navy, and was employed as a professional truck driver by DeFazio Express for 25 years. Due to his extensive travel, Michael's favorite saying was, "There is no place like home."

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. David Quesenberry officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
