Patricia Martin, 55, of Wilkes-Barre Township died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at home. She was the wife of Kenneth Martin.
Born in New Brunswick, N.J., daughter of the late Robert (Nubby) and Ruth Ann Thompson Sears, she was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School, Class of 1976, and a member of the Eastern Star in New Brunswick.
She was a licensed practical nurse, having worked for a number of years at the Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. She was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed taking care of her patients.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Bell and husband, Damion, Wilkes-Barre Township; a stepdaughter, Heather Martin, Raritan, N.J.; a stepson, Eric Martin, Freeland; three brothers, William Sears and companion, Ruth Reeser, Scranton; Robert Sears and wife, Carmella, Woodbridge, Va.; and James Sears and wife, Rosa, Newark, N.J.; two sisters, Ann Perry and husband, Frank (Rodi), Carbondale; and Margaret Opalka and husband, Robert, Scott Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As per her request, cremation was held. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on May 17 in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
