Paul M. Loughnane

Paul M. Loughnane, 72, of Warrior Run passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 19, 1940, a son of the late Francis and Mary Cummiskey Loughnane. Paul was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Class of 1959. He served with the 109th Field Artillery, Army National Guard from 1962 to 1965. He was formerly employed as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 163 and he was later employed as an electrician by the Tobyhanna Army Depot, retiring in 2000.

Paul was a member of Holy Family Church in Sugar Notch. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. John Neumann Division and he was a former member of the Twin Boroughs' Lions Club in Sugar Notch and Warrior Run. Paul was a very active in planning and organizing reunions and functions for members of his high school class at GAR Memorial High School.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores A. Lopacinski Loughnane, with whom he would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on April 24, 2013; sister, Marie Cronauer and her husband, Robert, Hanover Township; brother, Francis (Butch) Loughnane and his wife, Mary Lou, Hanover Township; and numerous loving nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great-nephews.

Paul's wife and family would like to thank Dr. Henry Bobeck and his staff, Dr. Bruce Saidman and Dr. David Greenwald and the staff at Medical Oncology Associates, the staff at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Dr. Norman Schulman and the staff at Radiation Medicine Specialists of NEPA and Celtic Home Health/Hospice for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
