Regina Tapajcik, 88, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Commonwealth Hospice at St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Boytar Tapajcik.
Regina was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1943.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for many years by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Regina was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Theresa Tapajcik and Marie Zemcik, and by her brother, Joseph Tapajcik.
Surviving are her brother, John Tapajcik, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews, Karen Schnyderite (James), New Bern, N.C.; Jean Niziolek (Barry), Newark, Del.; James Schnyderite (Courtney), Nazareth; John Schnyderite, New Jersey; Dr. Kyle Niziolek, Ohio; and Courey Niziolek, Indianapolis, Ind.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. J. Duane Gavitt will officiate. Private interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas.
