Robert T. Salitis, 84, of Duryea passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor.
Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late Theodore and Ann Slucinsky Salitis. He was a graduate of Duryea High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former Topps Chewing Gum Co., Duryea.
He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.
He was a member of American Legion Post 585, Duryea. He was a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Booster Club and the Scranton/Wilkes- Barre RailRiders Booster Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Charlotte Zita Salitis, on April 15, 2010.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen Salitis, Duryea; son, Carl Salitis and his wife, Joanne, Throop; and sister, Mary Lou Geadrities, East Rutherford, N.J.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea, with the Rev. Andrew Sinnott officiating.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. American Legion Post 585, Duryea, will conduct military services at 3 p.m.
Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral. Military services will be conducted Tuesday morning at the church by the AMVETS.
