Ronnie J. Dubil

Ronnie J. Dubil, 58, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully Saturday evening Jan. 26, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Oct. 5, 1954, a son of the late Michael and Marguerite Kocher Dubil. Ronnie was a graduate of the Lake-Lehman High School and had been employed by the Wilkes-Barre Area School District for 37 years as head custodian at GAR High School and retired after serving as a custodian at Meyers High School.

He was a member of Alderson United Methodist Church, Harveys Lake.

He loved attending his son Corey's baseball games, camping and the outdoors and his Mustang. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and had many hobbies including building model cars and lighthouses. Ronnie was an avid NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death in, addition to his parents, by a nephew, Edward Dubil Jr.

Surviving are his wife, with whom he just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary, Colleen Potter Dubil; and his son, Corey, both at home; brothers, Michael Dubil and his wife Debi, North Carolina; Edward Dubil, Harveys Lake; sisters, Bonnie Konigus and her husband, Joe, Hunlock Creek; and Debbie Evans and her husband, Henry, Lehman Township. He was loved by his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Alderson United Methodist Church, 108 Lakeside Road, Harveys Lake, with the Rev. Kenneth F. Brown officiating. There will be a time of fellowship following the service.

Ronnie's family would like to say thank you to the staff of Traditional Hospice and Dr. Elizabeth Gernhardt for the wonderful care that was given during Ron's illness.
