Rose Latona Maida of Pittston passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Wesley Village.
She was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Pittston, daughter of the late Philip and Anita Sperazza Latona. She was the wife of the late Carmelo Maida.
She graduated from Pittston Area High School and was employed as a cafeteria cook by Chelsea High School.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her son, Salvatore Maida; brothers, Joe, Sam, Angelo and Frank Latona; sisters, Katie Alaimo, Mary Panzetta and Carrie Alaimo.
Surviving are her sons, Philip and his wife, Lillian Rossi Maida, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Vincent and his wife, Yvonne Cosomo Maida; daughter, Virginia Randall and her husband, Michael; grandsons, Salvatore, Christopher, Philip and James; granddaughters, Gina and Chrisilla; great-grandchildren, Marina, Morgan, Logan, Carmine , Gianna, Jake, Madison and Ava; daughter-in-law, Marie Moribito Maida.
The family would like to thank the survivors of Salvatore Maida, the Panzetta, Musto, Wojak and Alaimo families for being there for their mother and making her feel loved and wanted.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., Pittston Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main St., Pittston.
