Theodore P. Papadoplos Sr., 85, of Larksville passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Theodore was born in Wilkes-Barre on Dec. 11, 1928, a son of the late Peter G. and Sophia Papadoplos.
He was a graduate of Coughlin High School and Wilkes Business College.
Theodore married Froso Collins of Bethlehem and together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Prior to his retirement, he was the co-owner and operator at Liberty Dry Cleaners and P&P Realty Co. with his brother, George.
Theodore was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he sang in the choir.
He also belonged to the following organizations: 50-year member of Landmark Lodge 442 F&AM, Keystone Consistory, 50-year member of the Irem Shrine, 50-year member of Black Diamond Chapter 55 Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association).
Theodore is survived by his loving wife, Froso; sons, Theodore Jr., Larksville; and Louis and his wife, Mary, Lancaster; daughter, Sophia and her husband, Mark Mangan, Larksville; grandchildren, Alex and Nicole Papadoplos and Mark J. Mangan; brother, George, Kingston; sister, Catherine Phass, Alexandria, Va.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Theodore loved traveling with his wife, Froso, and together they drove across the country, and traveled to Greece, Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda, and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Engle and his wife, Tammy, the staff at the Village at Greenbriar, and Timber Ridge Health Care.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the service at 10 a.m. in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Gabriel Nicholas officiating.
The interment will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Trisagion services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
