Timothy (Tim) Richard Pocono, 20, of Plymouth passed into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, April 6, 2014, in the Hershey Medical Center after a lengthy, courageous battle with cystic fibrosis.
Born Sept. 28, 1993, in Kingston, he was the son of Timothy and Margaret (Meg) Garnett Pocono of Plymouth.
He was a member of All Saints Parish and had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout with Troop 456 of Plymouth.
Tim was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 2011, and he was currently attending the Culinary Program at Luzerne County Community College. While he was in high school, he was a member of the Wyoming Valley West soccer team, and in his earlier years played with the Plymouth Soccer League and the Plymouth Teeball Program.
He was employed by Plymouth Hometown Market.
Throughout his life, Tim greatly enjoyed vacationing with his family at Myrtle Beach and loved fishing with his friends.
Tim continued to show an act of selflessness with organ donation, through the Gift of Life, in order to save and improve the lives of others.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard A. Pocono, and cousin, Jamie Lee Bardo.
In addition to his parents, Tim and Meg, he is survived by his brother, Jordan Pocono, and sister, Emily Pocono, both at home. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Clara Williams Kuchinskas and her husband, Gary, Larksville; and Richard and Lucreta Nevel Garnett, Hunlock Creek; paternal grandmother, Alexsandra Rushton Pocono, Swoyersville; aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Family and friends are invited to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Pennsylvania, 745 W. Governor Road, Hershey, PA 17033, in Tim's memory.
