Walter Kolesa Sr., 80, of Luzerne passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Joseph and Bertha Podgorski Kolesa.
Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as Walts Widow Cleaning Service.
He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, Henry, Joseph and John, and sister, Sophie Kolesa.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Olenik; children, Marie Kolesa, Luzerne; Walter Kolesa Jr. and wife, Jayne, West Wyoming; and David Kolesa, Luzerne; grandsons, Brian and Keith; and his little pet dog, Toni.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming. There will be no calling hours.
The family would like to thank Commonwealth Home Service and Hospice for their care and many thanks to the staff and nurses of Riverstreet Manor.
