William F. Kile

William F. Kile, 80, a former resident of Kingston, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 4, 2012, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born June 13, 1932, in Kingston, a son of the late Britton J. and Helen DePriest Kile, he was a resident of Kingston for most of his life and was a 1951 graduate of Kingston High School.

He was a loving husband to his wife, the former Marilyn Hooper, who passed away in 2006. He was also preceded in death by a son, William F. Kile Jr.; an infant daughter; a brother, Russell; and a sister, Lila Park.

Prior to retiring in 2003, he was employed by Roat Supply Co. and later by the Nesbitt and Wilkes-Barre General Hospitals.

He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve in the early 1950s and as a young man he was a member of the Tony Grant Dance Studio Stardust Revue.

Bill was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a lover of life and stayed sweet to the end.

Surviving are his daughters, Kathy Cikota, Harding; Mary, Tulsa, Okla.; and Maureen and her partner, Shenna, Tulsa, Okla.; sons, Bob and his wife, Barbara, Harding; and Kevin, Northbrook, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Anna Kile, Wilkes-Barre; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Bill's family would like to thank the nurses and CNAs of Timber Ridge Nursing Home, especially the staff of Aspen and his Therapy Dolls; also his many girlfriends there for the wonderful care and love they showed him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday from Corpus Christi Parish (Immaculate Conception Church), Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Karl E. Blight Funeral Home, 392 Wyoming Ave., Kingston.
