William (Bill) Hoyt

William (Bill) Hoyt, 86, of Mountain Top, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born and raised in Benton, he was the son of the late William A. and Ethel Crawford Hoyt.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty May (Shiber); devoted son, Barry; as well as nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brothers, Forrest, Murray, Larry, Kenneth, Graydon and Lyle, and sister, Betty Dummann.

In his early years, Bill was employed by the Benton Foundry, Benton; Alderney Dairy, Newark, N.J.; and retired as a custodian at Fairview Elementary School in the Crestwood School District, Mountain Top.

Bill had a passion for working on cars, watching Indycar and NASCAR races, and hunting with his son and his dogs. He was always ready and willing to lend a hand in any situation, asking for nothing in return. He will be missed by his family and the many people whose lives he touched with his quiet and unassuming kindness.

Private services will be held at the convenience of his family.
