Ann J. Herron, 87, of Ashley passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Summit, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 3, 1925, a daughter of the late Harry and Cecelia Burke Kemmerer.

Mrs. Herron was formerly employed by the local garment industry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard G. Herron, and by a daughter, Ann Marie Zakarauskas. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John and Harry Kemmerer, and by her sister, Ellen Janusiewicz.

Surviving are her sons, Bernard Herron and his wife, Donna, Wilkes-Barre; and Larry Herron and his wife, Joanne, Dallas; grandchildren, Kelly Zakarauskas; John Zakarauskas and his wife, Lorraine; Bernadette Hayes and her husband, James; Colleen Phillips and her husband, Stephen; Melissa Novak and her husband, Paul; and Jasie Hunter; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Ann's family would like to thank the nurses, aides and the entire staff at Golden Living Center-Summit for the compassionate care that they provided.

A private funeral service and interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Deacon Francis Bradigan from St. Andrew's Parish, Wilkes-Barre, will officiate.
