Anne Giovannini, 98, a former resident of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, went home to the Lord peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at her daughter's home in Oceanport, N.J., surrounded by her loving family, whom she considered her greatest joy and treasure.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on, Jan. 31, 1920, Anne was one of 11 children of the late Anna Kondratick Welgos and Stephen Welgos.

She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Giovannini and his wife, Ann Phillips Giovannini, and all her siblings, John, Metro, Michael, Theresa, Walter, Mary, Dorothy, Helen, Nick and Joe.

Anne worked in the garment industry until retirement, then enjoyed vacationing with her daughter Nancy's family and visiting with many friends and relatives at her kitchen table having coffee and cookies.

Surviving are her son, Ted Giovannini and wife, Lorraine Bellis Giovannini, Hudson; daughter, Nancy Johnson and husband, John E. Johnson; and six grandchildren, John E. Johnson III and wife, Nancy, Stephen Johnson and wife, Missy, Lisa Giovannini, Andy Giovannini Jr. and wife, Marquita, Gina Giovannini and Ted Giovannini Jr. and his wife, Rachael. Anne especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Johnny IV, Aileen, Shannon, Stephen Jr., Aidan, Joshua, Noah, Ryan, Grace, Madeline and Emilia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Twp., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Parish, 155 Austin Ave., Wilkes-Barre.

Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
