Arthur T. Stofey, 76, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday morning, March 10, 2018, at Riverstreet Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah Harris Stofey Sr. Arthur was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1959, and was an Army veteran. He was employed as a postal worker until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Andre Bessette Parish, and the Brookside American Legion, Post 837, both of North Wilkes-Barre. Arthur loved to sing and do crafts at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Around Memorial Day, he would help other veterans place American flags at the graves of fellow veterans, and was active with his high school reunion committee.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Stofey Jr.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Irene C. Yankoski Stofey, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Lois Grohowski, Hanover Twp.; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andre Bessette Parish, 672 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Kenneth M. Segar, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, 8th Street, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Wednesday in St. Andre Bessette Parish.
