Bernardine C. Kirkutis, 85, of Hanover Township passed into eternal rest Sunday morning, Nov. 18, 2012, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Genevieve Pacropis Chasko. Mrs. Kirkutis was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish. Bernardine was an avid tennis and bridge player and she enjoyed shopping. She was the founder of the Tuesday Lunch Group. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and a daughter, Susan.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Nancy Markovich, Hanover Township; Anne Green-Santry and her husband, Kevin Santry, Trucksville; Jane Smith and her husband, Ron Smith, Hanover Township; and Amy Cook and her husband, Steve Cook, Hanover Township; grandchildren, Joe Markovich, Caitlin Green, Morgan and Jake Smith and Collin Cook.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the S.J.Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, 143 Division St., Wilkes- Barre. Interment will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday.
