Charles "Charlie" Elston Evans, 64, formerly of Harveys Lake, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, unexpectedly at his current home in Knoxville, Tenn.

He was a graduate of Lake-Lehman, Class of 1972, where he played football under coach George Curry, whom he greatly admired. He worked for the Guard Insurance company in Wilkes-Barre and eventually Great West Insurance in Knoxville. He loved his dog, Sasha, and going for rides in his convertible.

His sister, Shirley Haas, preceded him in death and is survived by her husband, Harry Sr., Dallas.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Irene Bradley Evans; stepson, Nick Bradley; stepdaughter, Megan Howell and her husband, Bill; three grandchildren; brother, Thomas "Si" Evans and his wife, Jayne, Shavertown; sisters, Marjorie Miller and her husband, Robert, Harrisburg; Marie Whalen and her husband, Joseph, Bernville; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
