Clem A. Dolny, 87, of Nanticoke passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born on May 19, 1925 in Nanticoke he was the son of the late Adam and Constance Puchalska Dolny.

Mr. Dolny was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Navy on the US Destroyer USS Daly DD 519 in the Pacific and battle of Leyte Gulf. He was honorably discharged on November 28, 1945.

Prior to retiring in 1987 he was employed by RCA and GE, Mountain Top.

He was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke and was a member of Holy Trinity Church prior to the consolidation. He was also an active member of American Legion Post # 350, Nanticoke for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, the former Helen Wodarczyk on July 1, 2010. He was the last member of his immediate family being preceded in death by sisters, Sophie Lawrence, Mamie Gavandula and Henrietta Hryczyk.

Surviving is a son, Gary M. Dolny and his wife Christina, Mountain Top, PA; a grandson, Michael, Naples, FL; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 East Broad Street, Nanticoke with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Faustina Kowalska Parish/ Holy Trinity Church, 520 South Hanover Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. James Nash as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township with the U.S. Navy according military honors.

Visitation will be Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
