David J. Somoga, 60, of Plains Twp., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Sept. 12, 2018, after suffering a heart seizure at work.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late John and Mary Darlene Carter Somoga.

Dave was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1975, and was employed at Hilton Garden Inn, Wilkes-Barre, in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, was an avid photographer and was a member of the Photo Shoot at the Old School, Shenandoah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John J. Somoga.

Surviving are his wife of 12 years, the former Mary Horn, Plains Twp.; brother, Michael Somoga and his wife, Linda, Dallas; sister, Donna Tomkoski, Mountain Top and her companion, Wayde Kahley; nephews and nieces, John, Danielle, Billy and Jenn; brother-in-law, John Tomkoski Sr., Wilkes-Barre; sister-in-law, Maureen Somoga, Exeter; and father-in-law, David Horn, Hazleton.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with Office of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 695 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Michael Kerestes, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Lake Street, Dallas.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Parastas services will be held 5:30 p.m.
