David Volovic, 54, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully after a short but very courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Twp. David was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.

David was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Daniel and Margaret George Volovic. He graduated from GAR High School, Class of 1983. He was formerly employed by First Valley Hospital.

David's hobbies were photography, reading and listening to ELO, Elton John and Fleetwood Mac. He had a vast collection of German Steins. David competed in bodybuilding shows in the 1980s. He placed 5th in the medium class in the 1983 Teen Mr. America AAU that was held in Washington D.C. David also resided for a number of years in Holland.

David was of a strong Catholic faith that he took very seriously. He never had anything bad to say about anyone and never complained about anything. He was the best brother you could ask for and the most generous person. He loved animals. He had an unconditional love for his family. His motto was that families stick together.

David is survived by his heartbroken and loving family. All is not lost, however, he has now joined his mother and father in heaven who he dearly missed with all of his heart.

Surviving are his brother, Daniel J. Volovic Jr. and his wife, Pamela, Plains Twp.; sisters, Donna Chao and her husband, Al, Egg Harbor Twp., N.J.; Debra Dorsey and her husband, Alan, Pittston; Doreen McGovern and her husband, John, Ashley; Darlene Hayhow and her husband, James, Wantagh, N.Y.; Diane Walker and her husband, Travis, Selinsgrove; DeAndrea Roebuck and her husband, David, Forty Fort; his nephews and nieces, Noelle Volovic, Daniel J.
