Donald D. Fleschut Sr., 79, of Trucksville had his life's journey end on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 19, 1934, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Julius Charles Fleschut and Helen Bower Fleschut.
Don was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather of five grandchildren.
He was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral, Wilkes-Barre.
He retired after 35 years of loyal service to the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Co.
Don loved to travel with his wife, collect antiques and appreciate classic cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Julius Jr., Robert and William, and his sisters, Marie Fleschut, Pauline Fleschut Zukoski and Ruth Fleschut Reggie.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Sylvia; his sons, Donald Jr. and wife, Kathy, Peter and wife, Kathleen, and John and wife, Nicole; his grandchildren, Sarah, Brandon, Madison, Christopher and Ella; his sisters, Agnes Fleschut Radnor, Shirley Fleschut Oliver and Marguerite Fleschut Thomas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, 136 Maffett St., Plains Township, with Archpriest Joseph Martin officiating.
A private interment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Family and friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, with a Parastas service at 7 p.m., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, Plains Township.
