Donald L. Engle, 70, of Mifflinville passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Health South in Danville.

He was born July 1, 1943, in Kingston, a son of the late Edward Dennett and Mary Vowler Engle.
He graduated from Luzerne High School and Juniata College and took graduate courses at Misercordia University.
He was a teacher at Central Columbia High School, and served as the athletic director for more than 30 years and he coached baseball and football.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He also enjoyed following local sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Engle.
He is survived by his wife, the former Judy Abbott, whom he married June 1, 1969; two daughters, Susan Renee Engle, Philadelphia; and Tracy Lee and her husband, Sean McDonald, Big Pine Key, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jackson, Riley and Maverick McDonald; and three nephews, Steve, Mark and Scott Engle, all of Texas.
A memorial service will be at noon Monday at Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Andrew Bird Harris of Mifflinville United Methodist Church officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday.
