Donnie Pizano Obituary
Born in New Orleans, La., he was the son of Ethel Rita Pizano of Athens, Ala., and Philip G. Pizano of Plains Township. He was a graduate of Wyoming Area, Class of 1993, and was finishing his associate degree in business management in culinary arts at LCCC, where he had made the dean's list.
He was most recently employed by T. Evans Roadhouse in Hazleton. For many years he owned and operated Pizano Drywall. Through the years Donnie was employed by various businesses like Aunt Sarah's, Wilkes-Barre; Dente Catering, Pittston; Colonial Pancake House, Wyoming; and trained as assistant manager at Burger King in Nanticoke.
Donnie was a member of St. Barbara's Parish, Exeter, and a former member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades No. 21
Preceding him in death were his infant children, a son, Gabriel, and daughter, Lennon, and maternal grandparents, Ethel Rita and William Arbuckle.
Surviving, besides his parents, are a sister, Ethel Rita Seawod, and her children, Garrett and Vanessa, brother-in-law, Tom, Red Level, Ala.; brothers, Philip J., Plains Township; and Michael A., Plains Township; paternal grandparents, Philip and Geraldine Pizano, Wyoming; maternal grandparents; aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Cecilia's Church of St. Barbara's Parish, Exeter, with the Rev. Paul A. McDonnell, O.S.J., celebrating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Cecilia's Church, 1700 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, PA 18643.
Arrangements are made by Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

It's coming up on 12 years without you, Donnie. I often wonder the great things you would have accomplished after finishing school and opening the business of your dreams. And how our community missed out on the amazing experience you would have created for them. I miss our fun times together, but cherish every memory that we made. You left a huge hole in the heart and lives of those that loved you.

Phil, we were out of town and just recently found out about the acccident and so deeply saddened. Donnie was a very nice person and we know will be missed. I only met Donnie recently as I am Robin Walsh's best friend, (his passenger that horrible night). She said he was a kind and fun person. She liked spending time with him. I would like to extend my condolences to Donnie's family and friends.

The Pizano family is in our thoughts and prayers. Donnie & I have been friends since 1988 and we have remained close through the years. My husband became friends with them & they enjoyed many of the same past times. Our children lovingly refer to him as "Uncle Donnie". He will be greatly missed by many people. My deepest sympathy to the PIzano family. I grew up right down the street from him. Whenever I was at my parents house and he saw me he would always beep the horn and wave hi. I will miss seeing him sitting on the bench in front of the uni mart in hill dale.

My deepest, heartfelt condolences to the Pizano family! It is a very sad time for those who were priveledged enough to have known Donnie. I went to school with him, especially remembering Plains Jr High. He was a crazy guy, always made me laugh! I'll cherish the memories that I have of him, with a smile!!Regret not keeping in touch after school days were over...but we will meet up again someday. Until then RIP my friend!

Although we never exchanged names. We had several conversations at LCCC. I remember especially the ones about the TITANIC and his children. He was always so polite. He will be missed by us at the Culinary Institute.
