Doreen A. Boyle, 73, of Ashley died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Plymouth, Doreen was the daughter of the late George and Anne Kasenchak Bigus and was a graduate of Hanover Township Memorial High School.

She was employed by JCPenney and was an active member of St. Leo/Holy Rosary Church, Ashley.

Doreen was an avid Penguins fan and was active with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Booster Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Boyle, on Dec. 28, 2000, the love of her life.

She is survived by her children, Michael Boyle and his wife, Debra, Hanover Township; Mark Boyle and his wife, Michele, Ashley; and Michelle Ziegler and her husband, Steven, Pottstown; grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Boyle; Mark Boyle Jr.; and Bobby McNichols; brother, George Bigus, Chantilly, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Leo/Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley. The Rev. Thomas J. O'Malley will officiate.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home or from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo/Holy Rosary Church.
