Mrs. Dorothy E. Andrejewski, of South Walnut Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born May 6, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth Ritz Cook. Dorothy attended Wilkes-Barre area schools and was employed by Muskin Leisure Co. for 25 years and Universal Printing Co. for five years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved decorating for the holidays and shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening and caring for her many house plants.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Gallagher.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Joseph Andrejewski; daughters, Donna M. Ashford (Nina) and her husband, John Ashford Sr., Wilkes-Barre Township; Carrie Ann Podcasy and her fiance, Louis Forte, Wilkes-Barre Township; Joelle Andrejewski and her fiance, Kelvin Edwards Sr., Nanticoke; Christine Andrejewski, Wilkes-Barre Township; and Jolene Andrejewski Knecht, Shavertown; grandchildren, John Ashford Jr. and his wife, Leah Ashford; Joseph Ashford, Carina Ann Forte (Missy Lou), Jayden Heath, and Kelvin Edwards Jr.; great-granddaughter, Devin Ashford; brothers, Joseph Cook and his wife, Kim, Edwardsville; and Thomas Cook, Kingston; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Monsignor Thomas V. Banick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
