Dorothy Grosspietsch, 96, a former resident of Harveyville, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Mountain Top Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center, Wright Township, Mountain Top.

She was born Oct. 24, 1916, in Hanover Township, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Jackson Osborne.

She was employed five years by a dress factory in Lee Park.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, doing word puzzles and baking. She also collected stuffed animals.

She will be greatly missed by her family.

Surviving are her daughters, Mary Crane and husband, Eugene, Stillwater; and Alice Newell and husband, Richard, Dallas; son, Oliver Grosspietsch, Stillwater; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight nieces.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Osborne and Elma Hough, and grandson, Richard Crane.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, with the Rev. Lawrence Reed officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Sorber Cemetery, Shickshinny.
