Elizabeth Stevens Jones, 85, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after a battle with Alzheimer's.

Born in Luzerne on Sept. 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Sarah Stevens.
Prior to retiring, she was employed as a seamstress by local factories. She was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union. After retiring, she was active in the foster grandparent program at the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. She loved spending time with her children and all of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Henry; great-grandson, Glen Jr.; a sister, Bernadine; and brother, Claude.
Surviving are her loving sons, Stephen Horensky and wife, Eileen, Wilkes-Barre; John Horensky and wife, Tita, Chino Hills, Calif.; and Thomas Horensky and wife, Rose, Plains Township; loving daughters, Shirley Kratz and husband, Jack, Plymouth; and Carol Dmuchoski, Wilkes-Barre; nine grandchildren; 10-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Gwen Martinson, Kingston.
Elizabeth's family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, especially to Erin for their wonderful care.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
