Faust J. Valenti, 77, of West Pittston, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 26, 1940, son of the late Faust and Anna Chervenak Valenti.

Faust was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston, Class of 1958, where he excelled in baseball and basketball.

Prior to his retirement from Pope and Talbot in 2003, he was employed for many years as a carpenter by Tabone and Barbera Construction Company.

In his younger years, Faust was a member of Pittston Junction AC Baseball Team. He was a former coach for West Side Bank Baseball Team at West Pittston Little League, where he also served on the board of directors.

He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve from 1962 to 1968.

Faust was also a member of Fox Hill Country Club since 1972; a member of the Keystone State Carpenters Union; and a member of Corpus Christi Church, formerly Immaculate Conception, where he was also a member of Holy Name Society.

Faust's greatest joy in life was his granddaughters. He always made sure the pool was ready for them and enjoyed watching them learn how to swim. It was evident that Faust was proud of his son, Michael's, success in his business. He always said "Michael, put the Valenti name in lights." His summers where spent playing golf with his longtime friend, Tom Salvaggio.

In addition to his parents, Faust was preceded in death by his in-laws, Albino and Antoinette Ciampi; maternal grandmother, Bertha Chervenak; and aunt Anna Barbera.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Antoinette "Toni" Ciampi Valenti; son, Michael Valenti and his wife, Mara; grandchildren, Nina and Julia Valenti; sisters-in-law, Nicolina Briggs; and Rosalie and her husband, Robert Bugelholl; cousin, Angela Acierno; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Gibbons along with the compassionate staff of Erwine Home Health and Hospice Care. Also, a special thank you to his caregivers, Alan, Ashley and Jerilyn.

The funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday from Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church. Monsignor John Sempa will officate.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Interment will be held in West Pittston Cemetery.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Social Concern at Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, PA 18643.
