Frances Micnicoski Grochal, 70, a longtime resident of Duryea, entered her eternal rest Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, with her family by her side after a brief illness.

Frances was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella Micnicoski.
She was a graduate of Duryea High School and Empire Beauty School.
She was employed by Schott Optical until her retirement.
Frannie, nicknamed Freida by her children, was a world traveler who loved airplanes, cruising and road trips. She drove across the country four times exploring the United States. Some of her favorite spots included Las Vegas, the Poconos, London, Albuquerque, N.M., Aruba and the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif. She was a fiery redhead with a fun sense of humor and a friendly smile who loved spending time with her family. Her granddaughters, Emma and Olivia, were a joy in her life. Frannie was an avid reader who enjoyed mysteries and ghost stories, as well as a fantastic cook who made the best Polish food in the world!
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Grochal; sister, Christina Jordan; and brother, Thomas Micnicoski.
She is survived by daughters, Sherri and Justine Cupplo; son, Joseph Grochal; daughter-in-law, Jodi Grochal; granddaughters, Emma and Olivia Grochal; brother, Frank Micnicoski; sister-in-law, Shirley Micnicoski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of her family.
