Frank J. Pekol, 90 years young of heart, of Sheatown, Nanticoke, passed peacefully into God's hands on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Formerly of Wilkes-Barre and born July 24, 1927, in Wilkes-Barre Twp., he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna Kuren Pekol.

He was a 1942 graduate of Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed by Interstate Dress Carriers, Plains Twp., before retiring.

He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

Our dad was a loving father and a remarkable man, always laughing, and he loved his family and everyone he knew or met! He will be missed by everyone, greatly. He had a heart of gold.

He loved celebrating special holidays with his son and daughter, eating out at restaurants, gardening and watching sports.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Angie Mikosz, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; his sister, Marion Yanovich; and his brothers, Thomas, Carl, and Leonard Pekol.

Frank will be sadly missed by his son, Mark Pekol and his wife, Debbie, Nanticoke, with whom he resided; brother, Joseph Pekol and his wife, Marie, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Dorothy Griffith and her husband, Galen, Newark, Del.; and Theresa Britt, Hanover Twp.; many nieces and nephews; and also Sherrie Schenck, his daughter's sister, and her children, Brett, Brandon and Jason Jr., who were like his grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. John S. Terry, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Frank's family would like to thank Celtic Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
