Franklin Monroe Spry, 76, of Honesdale died March 18, 2014, at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, where he resided.

Born June 13, 1937 in Coudersport, he was the son of the late Frederick George and Marion Blow Spry. Franklin was employed by Topps Baseball Cards in Duryea, where he was a press operator. He also worked some famous area bands, including Tex Ritter and Timmy and Bits and Pieces. He was an avid NASCAR fan enjoying the races. Franklin was a member of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are his sons, Robert Spry Sr., Schenectady, N.Y.; Douglas Spry, Hanover; and Donald Spry, Edwardsville; his daughters, Deborah Snyder, Windsor, N.Y.; Donna Acevedo, Scranton; Theresa Rogowski, Laurel Run; and Tammi Lord, Wilkes Barre; his brothers, Lester and Frederick Gene Spry both of Binghamton, N.Y.; sisters, Violet Henry, Montrose; Mary Alice Lowe, Binghamton, N.Y.; and Ruth Ann Langevin, West Haven, Conn.; his best friend, Eleanor Hontz, White Mills; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry and Howard Spry; and sisters, Frances Hannel and Onnalee Gulie.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, March 22, at Hessling Funeral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday. As per his request, cremation will follow with interment in Indian Orchard Cemetery.
