Gary L. Williams, 72, of Swoyersville, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Celtic Hospice in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Herbert Williams and Margaret Sullivan. He was a graduate of the Central High School in Hopewell Township, N.J. Gary was a member of Forty Fort Presbyterian Church.He served in the the United States Naval Reserve, United States Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America and served as scout master for several years of Troops 143 and 123 of Forty Fort and Swoyersville. He was also a member of the Luzerne County Fire Police and Swoyersville Ambulance, the Swoyersville Hose Company 1, and was active with the Swoyersville Little League and the mini-football programs.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Kathy Smith; sons, Gary Williams, of Warrior Run; Geoff Williams and his wife, Alissa, of Larksville; David and his fiancee, Kimberly Pavlick, of Edwardsville; sister, Eleanor Keiper, of Pocono Lake; four grandchildren, Emily, Kaleb, Cade, Kaleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at noon on March 29 from Trinity Episcopal Church in West Pittston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made sent to the family at 383 Shoemaker Ave., Swoyersville, PA 18704.
