Genevieve "Jennie" Greco, 73, of Old Forge died peacefully Sunday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was married to John J. Greco. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 1.

Born in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Amedao and Elizabeth Basta Parri. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes-Barre. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Household Finance Company, Wilkes-Barre, Parson's Bank on East End Boulevard, Sardi's Restaurant, Parsons, and the Tri-Boro Banner newspaper. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church, Old Forge, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Old Forge Republican Women's Committee.

Jennie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and was an avid Elvis Presley and Yankees baseball fan.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kenneth Sebastianelli, Dr. Steven Raper, the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Dr. Charles Maganello, the nursing staff of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, NCHS, Old Forge and Celtic Home Health, Scranton.

Also surviving are three daughters, Lisa Zakreski and husband, Bob, Madison Township; Maria Tagliaferri and husband, Jim; Gina Wargo and husband, Dave, Old Forge; eight grandchildren; Alex, Derek, Jared, Jimmy, Michael, Nicole, John, Brett; two sisters, Gina Macaravage, Plains Township; Betty Ann Parri, Plains Township; one brother, Harry Parri and wife, Sharon, Miners Mill; nieces, and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Rd, Old Forge, followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at the Prince of Peace Parish - St. Mary's Church, West Grace and Lawrence streets, Old Forge. Interment Old Forge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
