George Brodi, 99, of Larksville died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

George was born in Pittston on April 13, 1914. He was the son of the late George and Julia Fircak Brodi.
A life resident of Larksvillle, George was also the oldest living resident of Larksville Borough.
He was owner and operator of Brodi Shoe Repair in Plymouth, until 1972. He retired from the Ralmark Co. in Larksville.
George was a charter member of the former Larksville Lions Club and a social member of Larksville American Legion Post 655.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville.
George had a strong love for the outdoors and gardening.
George was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years of marriage, Bernadine Brodi; and grandson, James Hankey III.
Surviving are a son, Francis Brodi; grandchildren, Anne Hankey and Francis Brodi Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Kali and Frank Brodi.
Funeral services for George will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville. The Rev. Gerald Gurka will officiate.
Interment will be held in St. John's Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. Monday.
