Helen Balliet Obituary

Helen M. Balliet, 90, of Mountain Top, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Smith Health Care Center, Mountain Top.

Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Dula. She graduated from Newport High School and was a member of St. Mary's Church in Dorrance.

Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Arthur S. Balliet; brothers, John and Frank Dula; and sisters, Mary O'Connor and Anna Balliet.

Helen is survived by her brother, Edward Dula and wife Florence, Nuangola; daughter, Barbara Panas and her husband, Charles, Mountain Top; sons, Arthur, Philadelphia; and Wayne, Mountain Top; grandson, Charles Panas and wife, Wende, Slocum; and great-grandchildren, Stacey and April Panas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. They may also attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Dorrance. Interment will follow in Stairville Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Smith Health Care Center for their attentive and compassionate care.
