Helen M. Donovan Fisher Otto, LPN, 81, of the Minooka section of Scranton, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after a brief illness. Her first husband, Richard L. Fisher, died in December 2011. Her second husband, Robert Otto, died in December 1964.

Born in Minooka, daughter of the late Francis and Esther Parfitt Donovan, she was a member of Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph's Church.
She was a graduate of Minooka High School. She also attended Hoyt School of Nursing, where she received her training as a licensed practical nurse.
Helen worked at West Mountain Sanitarium until its closing, and worked for many years as a private duty nurse. Before her retirement, she worked at Northeast Health and Hospice.
She enjoyed selling tickets and delivering flowers for the Minooka Lions Club, and was a former member of the Irish Cultural Society and Minooka Notre Dame Club. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.
She is survived by a son, Richard L. Fisher II and wife, Maryann, Minooka; two grandsons, Richard L. III and Erik Donovan Fisher, Minooka; two sisters, Barbara O'Hara, Green Ridge section of Scranton; and Donna Howard and husband, William, Minooka; a brother, William Donovan and wife, Judy, East Mountain; nieces, nephews and her pet Dachshund dogs, Clancy and Claddagh.
Helen, in accordance with her wishes, has been cremated. Family and friends are invited to a memorial Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, 312 Davis St., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton.
