James F. Lohman of the Korn Krest section of Hanover Township passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born June 13, 1934, in Shavertown, son of the late Harry and Hazel Honeywell Lohman, he was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Class of 1952.
Jim retired from The Citizens' Voice on Dec. 12, 1996, after nearly 40 years in the newspaper business and printing industry. Among his assignments at the Voice were covering the Phillies playoffs and World Series; the Senior Pro Bowlers' tour; and following Ted Tryba for several years when he played at the B.C. Open in Endicott, N.Y. His love for bowling led him to be the Spare Thoughts bowling columnist for 14 years. In 1997, he was inducted into the Wyoming Valley Men's Association Hall of Fame for his many contributions to the sport of bowling.
He and his wife, the former Flossie Kaczorowski, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 11, 2013. He is also survived by his best friend and caregiver, Charlotte Androckitis, Hanover Township; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and sister, Elizabeth (Jane) and her husband, Frank (Buddy) Wallace, Shavertown.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances L. Daniels.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Hanover Township.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
