Jeanne R. Butcher, 66, a resident of Kingston passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and six children.

Born June 23, 1947, in Plymouth, Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, James V. and Mary Brennan, and her brother, Andrew Brennan.

Jeanne was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston.

Jeanne worked for Wyoming National Bank and assisted her mother for many years with the family business, James V. Brennan Funeral Home, Plymouth. She served as an active volunteer with her children's schools and various community projects. Throughout her life, Jeanne loved time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed being a grandmother and shared her love, wisdom and humor with her grandchildren.

Jeanne enjoyed the movies, country music, reading, reality television, animals and outreach to those in need.

Her faith was in God and family, with a passion for helping others as evidenced by her pledge to give others a second change through organ donation with the Gift of Life.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Joseph F. Butcher, Kingston; daughters, Michelle, Kingston; Carolyn, Washington D.C.; Colleen and her husband, Andrew Kaminsky, Old Forge; sons, Joseph J. and his wife, Jan, Kingston; Michael and his wife Kathleen, Kingston; Paul and his wife, Sheila, Yardley.

Also surviving are her brother, James Brennan, Long Island, N.Y.; sister, Molly Frey, Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Grayson, Reese, Cade, Emma, Cali Butcher and Paige Kaminsky; many nieces and nephews.

The family extends sincere thanks to the critical care unit staff and team of doctors in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for providing great care and treatment for her.

The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. Intermemnt will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township.
