Jennie Osmanski, formerly of Plains Township, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 16, 2012, at United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Victoria Norkunas. She was educated in Wilkes-Barre area schools.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was a past member of St. Joseph's Church, Plains Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, on Dec. 28, 1978; and son, Joseph Jr., on June 1, 2001. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Joseph, Adam and Stanley Norkunas.
Jennie is survived by her sons, Ronald and his wife, Susan, Plains Township; and John, Savannah, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Ilene Osmanski, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Joseph, Kevin and his wife, Christine, Michael, Cheri and John; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Kevin A., Michael H., Stormy and Jenna; and sisters, Veronica Stolfi, Delaware; and Florence Gaelens, New York.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Michael J. Mikelski Funeral Home, 293 S. River St., Plains Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
