Joan Shea Cigarski, 79, of Chase Road, Shavertown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Riverstreet Manor Nursing Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary Farrell Shea. She was a graduate of Meyers High School. Joan was affiliated with the banking industry for several years. Joan enjoyed her family, her home and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cigarski, in 1996; and by son, Joseph; daughter, Carol; and brother, James Shea.
Surviving are her daughters, Elaine and her husband, Larry Williams, New Cumberland; and Eileen Cigarski and spouse, Ken Sutton, Shavertown; grandchildren, Emily and Caroline Williams, New Cumberland; and Mackenzie, Hunter, and Garrett Sutton, Shavertown; sisters, Shirley Krause, Wilkes-Barre; Rita Thomas, Kingston; Dorothy Peters, Luzerne; Anita Petroski, Dallas; Donna Orrson, Edwardsville; and Bernadette Romiski, Wilkes-Barre; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Therese's Church, Shavertown, with the Rev. James J. Paisley officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Joan's family would like to extend a special thank you to Joan's sisters for the love and care they gave to Joan and to the Nursing staff of Riverstreet Manor.
