JoAnn J. Margitish, 60, of Wilkes-Barre Twp., passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre Twp., on June 29, 1957, the daughter of the late Chester and Anna Lechman Stavish.

JoAnn was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1975.

She was employed as the supervisor of canteen services by the Department of Veterans' Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp.

JoAnn was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. She was also a member of the NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federation).

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, George Margitish; daughter, Amy Rodriguez and her husband, Robert, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; son, George Margitish and his fiancée, Jessica Chromey, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; grandson, Maddox Margitish; brother, Chester Stavish, Lake Carey; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. John S. Terry officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Courtdale.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
