John B. Ozmina, 82, of Warrior Run, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Nanticoke on Aug. 25, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Tekla (Kolativa) Ozmina.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1955 to 1960. He was employed by the Pipe Fitters Local No. 524, Scranton, until his retirement.

John was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Sugar Notch, a member of the F.O.E. Aerie No. 834, Nanticoke, a member of the former American Legion Post No. 176, Warrior Run. He enjoyed fishing and he excelled at shooting darts in several local leagues.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maryann (Kolesar) Ozmina; sons, John Ozmina III and his wife, Lynn; Michael Ozmina and his wife, Dawn; Stephen Ozmina and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Candice, Jessica, Laura, Kimberly, Alisha, Stephen Jr. and Shelbylynn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Parish, with the Rev. Joseph Kakareka officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Twp.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley.
