John Joseph Simchick III, "Jack," 64, of Breinigsville, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, surrounded by loving family.

Born in Nanticoke, he was the son of Antoinette Simchick and the late John J. Simchick Jr. of Columbia.

A graduate of Nanticoke High School, Class of 1971, he also received an associate degree in engineering from Penn State University in 1973.

Jack was employed by Frontier Communications as an enterprise sales executive, and had worked for them from 1978 until the time of his death.

Among his interests were fishing, hunting, cars, watching football and traveling, especially his time spent with his wife in China. Jack took pride in being a dedicated employee at Frontier and established many long-term friendships.

Jack was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Simchick, and brother, Robert Simchick.

Surviving are his wife, Li Simchick; two daughters, Mallory, Boston, Mass.; and Zihan, Breinigsville; and two sisters, Donna Michel and her husband, James, Hamilton, N.J., and Rose Ann Connelly and her husband, Jack, Lititz. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.

The family will greet family and friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, followed by a brief religious service at noon. The Rev. James R. Nash will officiate.
