Joseph Anthony Peter Galuska, 86, of Moosic, passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018.

He was born in Duryea on June 20, 1931, and was the son of the late Andrew and Agnes Barlik Galuska.

Joseph was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

He served as an airplane instrument mechanic in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 to 1953 with an honorable discharge.

He worked at the Trane Co. in Dunmore for 37 years.

Joe was a member of the American Legion, Brennan Regan Post 585, Duryea, where he was a financial and service officer.

Joe loved bowling, spending time with his grandchildren, and meeting his first great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores, of 64 years, and brothers, John, Stanley and Thomas.

Surviving are his daughter, Rosanne J. Galuska Kuhar, husband Thomas, Mountain Top; son, Joseph Galuska, Moosic; their cat, Dallas; grandchildren, Christopher Kuhar, fiancée Kelly McAndarra, Ashlen Kuhar, companion Eric Hoffman, and Randie Kuhar; great-grandson, Nikolai James Kuhar; sister, Jean Nardone, brother-in-law Joseph Nardone, Old Forge; sister-in-law, Phyllis Galuska, Avoca; sister-in-law, Janet Galuska, Tuxedo Park, N.J.; sister-in-law, Kathy Reid and brother-in-law, Jack Reid, who loved him very much; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea. The Rev. Joseph Evanko and Deacon Gene Kovatch of St. Jude's Parish Church, Mountain Top, will officiate.

Interment will be held in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. The AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston will provide military honors.

All are asked to go directly to the church for Mass. There will be no procession.

We would like to thank everyone at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Hospice for being so caring and compassionate not only to Joseph, but to our whole family. A special thank you to Dave Baloga for the beautiful music, Holy Redeemer Pallbearer Ministry, the Rev. Jospeh Evanko and Deacon Gene Kovatch.
