Joseph E. Cardoni Jr., 64, of Johnson City, N.Y., and Plains Township, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 2012, at Commonwealth Hospice at St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Plains Township, he was the son of the late Joseph "Pepi" Sr. and Irene (Smolenyak) Cardoni.
Joe was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1966, and Mansfield State University. He was employed for 20 years as a salesman by Smith-Ingalls-French, Binghamton, N.Y.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are his brother, Dennis "Chipper" Cardoni.
Surviving are his brother, Wayne Cardoni and his wife, Gayle, Allentown; sister, Monica Stevens, Plains Township; and sister-in–law, Anna Cardoni, Plains Township; nephews, Dr. Wayne Cardoni Jr., Lt. Col. Christopher Cardoni, Douglas Cardoni and Josh Stevens; nieces, Maria Cardoni, Elissa DiCarlo and Lia Cardoni; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
Joe will always be remembered for his great love of his family and his generosity, and will be sadly missed.
According to Joe's wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
