Joseph F. Zaykowski, 93, of Dallas, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at The Gardens at Lakeside in Dallas.

Born in Larksville on Aug. 23, 1924, Joseph was the son of the late Alexander and Antonina Zaykowski.

Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning the Bronze Star and Silver Star.

Prior to his retirement, Joseph owned and operated Adams Trucking Co.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lake Silkworth.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nellie Vitcusky Zaykowski, and his sisters, Mary Akromas, Lecadia Zaykowski, Stella Koslosky, Helen Yokavonis, Florence Rish and Dorothy Keiper.

Joseph is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Interment will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.

Full military honors will be provided by the AMVETS of Greater Pittston.

Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
